Migraines FAQ

I just got the Mirena two days ago - VERY BAD HEADACHES & Tingling?!?

I got the Mirena put in a little over 48 hours ago. The first night I was feeling tingling in my lower back while sitting and still feel it throughout the day. Now today.. around 2pm (46 hours after getting it) I have gotten A HORRIBLE headache on the verge of Migraine but hasn't quite started with the aura and all that. I am just wondering if the headache associated with the Mirena and if I should call the Obgyn? Also... I am not a normal caffine drinker.. but the past two weeks or so I have been having in icetea everyday around noon. Today I skipped it... Could this be the problem for having the headache? Has anyone else felt tingles from the mirena? and WILL IT GO AWAY? as it is pretty annoying?

Why do I get terrible migraines when I get hungry?

I have suffered from migraines most of my life, and with this problem as well. After going w/o food for a few hours, I usually don't get hunger pain like most people do but I start over-salivating, I get dizzy and I get a terrible migraine. This is really interfering with my weight-loss goals since my body won't even wait for me to cook a healthy meal, it will just crash,so I have to grab whatever's available to me.Why does this happen? Also, how can I avoid and control it?

my 11 year old son talks TOO much?

literally he doesn't stop talking.. everyone in the house has started to ignore him.. no one wants to babysit him.. .but what can I do about him talking too much? I can't just Uh-huh him because he requires a response. Have you ever had that grandmother who would just talk, talk, talk, talk all day? That's my son. Now, I'm very grateful that he DOES talk. I'm also grateful that he talks as well has he does because it make our communication all that much better. I'm also not looking for You-should-be-thankful and Stop-whining remarks. I was just looking for ideas on what to do to maybe redirect his constant need for attention and/or what to do for my own sanity. I have a really bad migraine every day day because of him... you don't understand!!!!! even my husband tries to leave the house when he talks so much, my daughters have actually begged him to stop talking because he doesn't stop. I had relatives over the other day and the whole time we was trying to talk he was talking until my sister got SO mad she had to shout has that damnnnnnnnn kid stopped fu*c*king talking today, my daughters want to move out because of it, my husband tries to do extra hours in work and I'm not kidding. I love him A LOT! but his soo annoying. he has a week off school next week and i'm dreading it . I mean he rang his friend and said can i sleep over so his friends mom rang me and said to me your sons a lovely boy, but he talks TOO much thats why I dont want him over because of talking too much no body likes to play or share anything with him. and he feels a need to talk too much that when he runs out of things to say he accidently says mean things like you look kinda fat and your hair looks ugly can you tell me how to control this problem please!!!!!

I have a really bad headache....?

This is my third day having this headache. I've never experienced something like this. At first I thought it was just from lack of sleep, because I had slept only a few hours the day before my finals. I don't think it's because of stress, because school is over. My headache only occurs in the front of my head, not in the back. Sometimes I will get some pain on the left side of my head. My eyes are also starting to bug me, so could it be I've been spending too much time on the computer? When I rub my eyes, and I remove my hands, my vision goes blurry for about 10 seconds, then my vision comes back to normal (or as normal as possible, since I wear glasses.) My family and friends think it could either be a migraine, or my glasses are too weak for my eyes now and I need new ones. My mom says it's because of all the stress from finals, lack of sleep, skipped meals and too much computer time. Please help me. I think 3 days is too long for a normal headache. I forgot to include that I am a 14 year old female. Maybe my age/gender might help? I can't be sure if it's a menstrual migraine. I have a very irregular menstrual cycle (I get mine maybe 1-3 times a year). I haven't had it for a few months now, so that would be hard to tell if it was a menstrual migraine. Haha, I'm forgetting a few things. I also get dizzy. It's not like, the-room-is-spinning dizzy, but more of a probably drunken dizzy (No, I don't drink. I'm just describing what I see in movies and applying it to myself.) I also have some pain in my neck, but that could be because I slept in a bad position last night. I have also tried taking Advil. It does help for a while (not exactly sure how long) I took it once on the first day, and it went away for a few hours, but then came back. Same thing on the second day. Today, I have yet to take any medicine.
