Antideperessant - Venlafaxine omg?

I've been prescribed a course of antidepressants because I suffer depression from time to time. Even though the cause is mostly circumstantial I've agreed to the treatment to try & balance my mood, something to do with serotonin levels (I agree I haven't ben getting enough sun) so I try. Anyway I started today, I'm having 75mg per day for the first week then moving on to 150mg the 2nd week & then on. I've taken the firt pill today & now an hr later I'm experiencing extreme nausea, my jaw is aching & I'm feeling anxiety & as I write this now its getting worse...I feel I may need to make myself sick. How can this be? Feeling sick is the bodys way of letting you know you've been poisoned! Can anyone give me some attention by perhaps sharing experience or enlighten me as to what chemicals these pharmaceuticals are really using to make these drugs. Thank you Sorry for my obvious spelling mistakes...I'm in a bad way :( Ok guys thanks ever so much for the replys. I wont be having anymore, nothing that makes me feel this way can be naturally good, in fact the thought of becoming dependent on this to hold back the very syptoms it causes fills me with dread. No way will I continue to take them. The effect is like the comedown from amphetamine...surprise surprise I've done my research & the chemical component is related to MDMA! I'm going to feel better naturally, I wasn't born on this planet with pills.

I've been on 75mg of Venlafaxine for about a year now, and having been a regular blood donor prior to being on the meds, I wish to start donating blood again soon. Is it possible to? Or is my blood not suitable for donating? Please advise, thanks! :)

from what i've seen on the net the max' is 225mg, but my psychiatrist is putting me on 300mg.

Hello, I am a 17 year old female and lately, the past month or two, I have been experiencing constant or almost constant hypersensitivity of the skin everywhere on my body. My skin has been extremely sensitive to everything I touch. Mostly the pain is in my wrists, up my arms, down my back, and the front of my thighs. I cannot lay down anywhere without being in extreme discomfort or pain and I cannot rest my hands on anything because of the pain in my wrists and arms. The pain can vary from a 3 to a 9 or 10 on a 1-10 scale, 10 being the worst. But it is not a normal pain, the only way that I can describe it is like a metallic feeling. (Have you ever had braces or a metal utensil in your mouth and had that metal feeling? It's very similar to that but much more painful). There are no rashes or any visible change on the skin, and it is starting to really keep me from doing things. None of my doctors can figure out what is causing it. It can get to the point where I can't even move and the clothes on my back alone hurt it and it feels like my skin is against a burning metal sheet. I've tried Tylenol and Ibuprofen and nothing has seemed to help. Also I suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder, and it's focused on cleanliness. Some doctors thought it could be from my low immune system but are not positive. I am currently taking, daily, 150mg of Venlafaxine and 200mg of Sertraline for the OCD. Aswell as 100mg of Trazodone to help me sleep through the pain. Do you have any suggestions as to what this is, or what I could mention to my doctors to help them focus on a specific cause?

i have been taking effexor for 5 years, 225mg daily but for the last eight months i have only left the house twice due to anxiety and panic attacks. what tablets can i ask my doctor for that wont interfere with my current medication which is 225mg effexor daily, 200mg levothyroxine daily and 300mg ranitadine daily i need someting to help with my agoraphobia but nothing too strong as i have 2 children to care for thankyou for any advice
