Hi, I've had a migraine for 7 days now - went to the Docs on Monday and Tuesday without much joy. I've tried Almotriptan on Sunday, Sumatriptan on Tuesday, copious amounts of ibuprofen and Paramax. I had acupuncture yesterday which seemed to help a bit, and have been resting all day today, yet now I can't get to sleep as I am in agony again (and I've started to feel nauseous. Hurrah). I've now given up on the drugs because it doesn't feel like they're helping, and I think I may have got a rebound headache from the Sumpatriptan. I am currently lying in a dark room in bed with a cold flannel across my head - please if you can recommend anything to help shift this damn thing it would be MUCH appreciated - as you can probably tell I am willing to try anything! I went on a hike earlier and was up on the mountain for about 4.5 hours, in mild heat (but very breezy) and sun. On my way home I got a migraine that I've now had for seven hours. I have a few prescription migraine medications due to chronic headaches I've had for 3 months (no known cause yet), including Amitriptyline and Sumatriptan. I've taken both medications since the onset of this migraine with no relief. Could I possibly have heat exhaustion? My headache is the only symptom of it that I had until about an hour ago when I became nauseated, but it's bad and I can't get rid of it even with prescription medication.

hi have been taking these tablets for the last couple of months for migraines. But they sometimes work and sometimes do not. I was wondering if this is normal or are they supposed to take migraines away straight away? Also, how long do your migraines last even after taking these tabs because mine can last up to 3 days. The tabs relieve my migraines but still leave me with a bad headache. I am almost 16 and on the internet and the leaflet inside the tabs say do not take if under 18 do you think this has any affect? It would be helpful if you could answer if you take these tabs. Thanks i also take propranolol twice everyday for prevention. my doctor did issue me with them

I have been having these headaches now, the most painful ones, for almost 3 weeks now. I have been seeing my chiropractor and have been taking the sumatriptan and naratriptran, but still this pain just seems to get worse and worse. I am surprised I haven't even winded up in an emergency room yet, (it's getting close!) . No more insurance for the sumatriptan until after March 17 I believe and Naratriptan is getting down too. I am going to see if I can get some Maxalt from my doctor and see if that works better. Is there anything, that works better or faster than these triptans do? I get up frequently with the headaches (oh, those are the worst!) and by the time I take the pills I am so racked up in pain, I don't know if they are of any benefit.. I would really appreciate some help, advice, or encouragement. Thanks. Also would like to know if breathing pure oxygen has worked for some people out there.
