Prazosin FAQ
and the whole nine yards. Now he is at home, and happy, but he keeps leaking (pee) every 20-30 minutes in little amounts - like he hasn't had a full piss yet. I called the vet and she said it's normal for this to happen because he had a catheter in him but my question is should I put him back on prazosin (which is what he was prescribed) or will that make him pee even more? thanks
prazosin alternatives for hypertension?prazosin is the only medicine that worked for my aunt aged 65 years.enalapril, high doses of hydrochloro thiazide had very little effect. My question is what other drugs can be used along with prazosin.prazosin is being used at 1mg dose, three times a day. benezepril amilodipine combination did work but gave edema in legs. Her present readings are 150/90 to 130/80. Without prazosin the readings were 180/100 to 160/90. other drugs being used are enalapril and hct(120 mg/day) and clonidine(ARKAMIN) 3 times a day. enalapril and clonidine are reduced to two times a day with no apparent effect on bp for the last 10 days.
I swallowed a Prazosin capsule and inhaled it into a lung. How long till it dissolves?I was coughing trying to get it out. But I am used to having things like water in my lungs from deep free diving. Oh, I don't take it for heart. I take it for PTSD in my sleep it stops the zombies (dead ones in Nam) from coming to haunt me. Incidentally the same lung I was shot in 42 years ago. So a bullet was in that lung before. Now that was painful.
I am 64 years old ,and having some urinary problem? My problem is I have to get up at least 3 times in the night to urinate Is my prostrate gland enlarged? If so what remedy u will propose .Will the drug Prazosin (1 mg ) tds will work?pl do not wait for one year to answer me
Cat Urinary Obstruction, possible recurrence? My families cat had blood in his urine. We took him to the vet, where he was given antibiotics. The blood cleared up and he went back to normal. About a week later I noticed that he was straining and very litte urine was produced. So, I took him to the vet ER, where the vet told me that he bladder was soft, a bit tender, and pretty empty. She told me to continue with the antibiotics, and to go to my regular vet the next day. I made an appointment while at work, and when i arrived home the cat was acting weird and refused to eat. I took him for the appointment where I was told he had an obstruction and needed a urinary catheter. The procedure was completed, and was said to have been successful (on thursday). The vet called and said that the catheter was removed on friday and he was urinating on his own. We brought him home on Monday. He immediately used the litter box successfully. Today is Wednesday, I noticed that he is still urinating outside the litterbox..like on Towels, Trashbags etc...His behavior is somewhat back to normal but not quite. He is on prazosin...twice a day, and he has been eating a wet food diet with extra water added as my vet has assigned. I called the vet, and I am waiting for her to call back. What is going on??? Is this Normal? We have been paying through the nose just in this last week or so, and I know my mom is going to want to put him down...which is hearbreaking... There were no crystals in his urine. The vet said his urine was causing the inflammation. The x-rays didn't show any stones or crystals, his urine cultures and blood tests are now normal. The vet did a full work up. When he left the vet he seemed fine. He has only been hom since Monday evening..
