When linezolid was first undergoing clinical trials was it an antidepressant?

My antibiotics professor told a story about linezolid being developed as an antidepressant, and then being moved to antibiotic because it functioned better in that category. It seems to have some limited antidepressant activity, but I can't find any resources about antidepressant trials with linezolid, all I get are drug interactions. If anyone knows where I could find that information, or if the story is even true, that would be amazing.

breathlesness and rapid heart rates. she never had asthama or any other lung related problem but docs. say her lungs have lost elasticity and has fibrosis. so they started nebulising her (with Levosalbutamol ).suddenly one night she had major respiratory problem & her C02 levels reached very high and she was put into ventilation.since then she is on ventilation and docs say that she has a lungs infection. her blood count is also high. her x-ray showed that some fluid formation has collasped her right lungs.Then broncoscopy was done and sputum taken for culture revealed that the infection she has is resistant to many common antibiotics and is not yet controlled. she was given many antibiotics like amoxicillin clauvenate,clarithromycin, linezolid, tegacycline. Now she is given tobramycin (thru inhalation). will she be cured and will she win out of ventilation. did initial nebulization caused all this and infection. actually she was hospitalised for other reasons. she was on IV for Na+

My father had undergone a hip joint replacement. He has been diagnosed as having infection within bone. He was advised C Reactive Protein Test, based on which diagnosis was made by the doctor. This infection was contracted during operation. He is prescribed with Linezolid 600 mg twice a day 10 days.How good is Linezolid for such infections? Doctor suggested if antibiotic is not able to help, then he may have to be operated for replacing the prosthesis. My father has COPD and putting him on Anasthesia is a risk. Also doctor says that he may have to be operated twice once to remove the prosthesis&put antibiotics&then after some days, put a new prosthesis. His X-Ray report says: Mild reduction in hip joint spaces. Otherwise Pelvic girdle bones appear normal in morphology.No erosion or osteolytic area. Both sacroiliac joints are unremarkable. Soft tissue planes are well maintained. Is there any other way to deal with this symptom so that the operation can be avoided? Please help !!! Please help. I am eagerly awaiting response
