Fluconazole vs. Itraconazole?

My dermatologist prescribed me itraconazole but the pharmacy gave me fluconazole. Is there a difference? Should I not be taking the fluconazole?

Her nails are also knobby and smelly. Antibiotics, Itraconazole and Novalson have not worked. Vet says it's because Both cats were not treated at the same time , Now two cats have it. . Any product ideas. Kitties have been tortured enough! Trying to avoid another costly vet visit and months of med. commitments. Thanks

My dog has been suffering with aspergillosis for over a year now. I just received news that the fluconazole that he has been taking the whole time, is not working. Today the anti fungal drug, itraconazole, was recommended to me by the vet, and has been proven to work, but it is $580 a month! That is $550 more than the fluconazole. I only make $300 a week, and am already struggling, as many of us are. I love my dog, and he is in perfect health other than this fungus issue. If he doesn't get the right treatment he could become paralyzed and/or die. Please, if anyone has any info that might help, let me know. Thanks.

About 2 1/2 weeks ago one of my cats was diagnosed with ringworm. The vet I work for gave me Itraconazole to give him, and he had me isolate him for 2 weeks in the guest bedroom. He's been released, and he got a bath, and is getting his meds everyday. I've already washed all the linens and clothing he's touched, and none of my other 6 cats or 2 dogs show symptoms. (He is the only long haired cat, and they're all over 5). My question is, what all do I need to do do the guest bedroom to make it ringworm free? So far, I've thrown away the dishes and litter box we used with him in isolation, and I have bleached his cage. I've sprayed Lysol disinfectant in the room about 4 times in the last couple days, and have the window open to air it out. Our vacuum is broken, but we have a steam cleaner. My cat, Hershey, had a circlular bald spot when I first noticed it, and the vet thought it was allergies. A few weeks later he had lost most of the fur under his legs and on his stomach, which is when we did a scraping and found ringworm. spelling error :] lol...circular
