sores on my sons head?

my son is 5 years old. 2 summers ago he began getting these sores on his head in his hair, or nearby. the whole area would swell up, turn red & be hot to the touch. by the next day, he would have an oozing sore in the middle about the size of a quarter. I took him to his pediatrician, who tested him for MRSA, it came back negative. Then we took him to a dermatologist who told us it was kerion (a form of ringworm that affects the scalp) he was on strong meds (griseofulvin) for 6 months & anti fungal creams applied multiple times a day. nothing worked, he was tested again for ringworm & it came back negative, but he was still getting the sores. he only got maybe 2 or 3 all last year, & hadnt had one since last summer, but last week he got another, and just as it began to heal, another one popped up again today. I'm taking him to an allergist in a couple weeks... any other suggestions... I cant take this much longer, I need to find out what is wrong with my son. oh, and they arent contagious, he's got a twin brother, & a one year old brother & none of us have gotten it.

Hi, my cat (7 months old, 7 1/2 pounds) was prescribed 150 mgs per day for 21 days of Fulvicin (aka GRISEOFULVIN) for ringworm. I read that there are bad side effects like nausea and I was wondering if anyone else could say what their experience was. Your help is greatly appreciated! Also, did you end up contracting the ring worm? Many thanks!!

We took her to the vet when we noticed she had been biting at herself and loosing hair. The told is its probably just fleas so we put flea and tick medication on her. That obviously did nothing. Soon after the spot got noticeably bigger we took her back and did fungal tests. They prescribed her Conofite lotion to apply 8 drops daily, Clavamox twice tablets daily, and to bath her with Glenhaven shampoo. That treatment didn't work either. She is now on day 26 (out of 42 pills one a day) of Gris-Peg (Griseofulvin) and a huge new spot has showed up on her leg. It is REALLY difficult to bath her so if there is any suggestions that don't have to do with water that would be great. I would really like to get rid of this problem asap so i can continue socializing her. Thank you.

i have take some medicine like zarin cream and Griseofulvin pil but its not work i'm still itchy now..i have this problem beyond 2 years ...how can i totally kill this fungus ??

My vet perscribed this and it is at human pharmacies (made for humans not dogs.) Anyways my vet wants me to give it to my dog for ringworm. I'm worried to give her anything, she looks totally fine and healthy. She is a lab, only 11 months old weighs like 80 lbs. Please only answer if you know! I'm thinking of getting a second opinion.
