Are Cyproheptad and Cyproheptadine Hydrochloride the same thing?

I am currently giving this prescriptions to my 16 month old son, he has been diagnosed with failure to thrive: 1ml zinc once a day - appetite stimulant 15mg Prevacid once a day - GERD 2.5 ml Cyproheptadine once a day -antihistamine, appetite stimulant Yes, all these has been given to him by his PCP and GI doc... as far as the zinc I think that's given not as an appetite stimulant but rather to help metabolism and/or absorb other nutrients he might not be absorbing properly. And yes, he has had a sweat test and an endoscopy negative for celiac.

I gained a lot of weight that I can't seem to lose for some reason. I've been riding my horse for the last month and he seems like he's okay. He's a little sluggish and behind my leg and he's also developed pressure sores on his back. He's on Cyproheptadine, which is an antihistamine so that might make him drowsy. I have a regular saddle pad, a 1/2 foam pad and a sheepskin under my saddle. Does he have sores because I am too heavy? Just me I am 19.5% of my horse's weight, I'm sure once my saddle and pads are on I'm sure it's over the 20%. Anything I should be looking for? I'm really worried and will stop riding him if I need to. If it matters he's a 15.2 HH OTTB that I've had for four years.
