Any vets here? My dog is sick. What can I do about it?

First off, I'm low on money because I had to miss a week of work, so I can't afford a vet unfortunately. But I'm hoping someone here can tell me what to do. So he was good last night, but today, my dog is sick. He won't eat. He has been drinking though. He has diarrhea and threw up a couple times. I gave him some medicine we had from a previous sick dog called Cefa-Drops (cefadroxil) . I don't know what is wrong with him. What should I do to treat him properly? He has been drinking Pedialyte, so I mean that's good.

My boyfriend noticed he had a few swollen lymph nodes in his head/neck area about a week and a half ago. Then about a week later, I found a swollen node in my armpit. He had no other symptoms until a couple days ago when he started feeling exhausted and he got stiff fingers. I have no other symptoms but tonight I noticed a slightly enlarged gland right behind my ear. I've gone to the doctor but he has not. I'm on Cefadroxil twice a day. Could this be something serious? And why would we both suddenly get this at once? Could allergies cause swollen lymph nodes? My boyfriend has horrible allergies. He also is allergic to cats and I have three so Cat Scratch Fever could be possible but I can't think of a time he's been in enough contact with them to get infected. I've had a headache this week and I thought maybe it's been allergies since usually my sinuses start to act up. I don't know what this could be. The lymph nodes are rubbery and fixed. I hear that's a sign of something bad. I've read myself into a scared mess.
