How do you overcome akathisia?

My wife suffering from akathisia, which is a side effect of Amoxapine she is taking to relieve her depression. To mitigate the side effect, she is again taking antiparkinson drugs but they are not very effective for her akathisia. Also, antiparkinson drugs are said to have yet another side effect called dyskinesia, which she has not experienced so far. But she fears that she would be suffering from dyskinesia, if she continued to take such drugs. She hopefully wants to quit taking any of these drugs with such side effects, but that would worsen her depression. What can she do to oversome all this?

This medication has been taken for 3 yrs & was stopped whilst in hospital, not reduced slowly, just stopped! What would be the adverse effects of this? The hospital stopped it.
